Boy and Girl

Love these two!

Reed's Visit

Marc, Ashley, and Reed came to visit over Swiss Days and it was lots of fun to have them here. We had dinner with everyone one evening and Reed and Zeke really had a lot of fun together. Zeke just loves having a boy cousin to play with!

And we got to enjoy Ashley's homemade ice cream, yum!

Fall Float Flying

We haven't done a whole lot of flying this summer, but we were excited to go float flying for a second time this year. The kids were thrilled to go play in the water and watch the planes.

Aaron had an awesome flying day. He flew 4 times in one morning. I can't remember the last time we flew like that, but it had to have been 2 or 3 years ago.

Aaron had some really good landings too.

The weather was perfect. Warm but not hot, and lots of light pretty clouds against the blue sky.

Kindergarten is Fun!

We have had so much fun with kindergarten this month! On his first day, Zeke just couldn't wait to go. We told him that it wouldn't be time to go until after lunch, so he was ready for lunch at about 10:30. By the time we actually ate around noon he was running circles around the house in between bites.

Load up the car; we're on our way!

Sitting with his class.

He had a great first day and every day after that. He loves his teacher and classmates and is so excited about all he is learning. They have talked a lot about gingerbread man stories, and other ways to catch a gingerbread man (Zeke would put his in a box). They are working on colors, letters, numbers, and days of the week. One of my favorite projects so far is a name sign he made in the first few days. I just think the Zebra Elephant Kite Elephant  is so representative of Zeke. If you asked him to name things that start with z, e, and k, this is probably exactly what he would tell you.

They have spent a lot of time on numbers: writing, reading, and counting. We practice writing letters and letter sounds for homework.

Learning is so fun at this age and I'm glad he is loving it. Zeke asks every night what tomorrow is, and he's bummed if it's a weekend and he's not going to school tomorrow. However, weekends mean Mommy doesn't have to go to work, so that makes up for it. :)

Swiss Days Parade

Zeke started asking about riding the train in the Swiss Days parade back in July. He loves it! It was a gray rainy morning, but turned out sunny and warm for the parade itself. And, extra fun for this year, Zeke's one boy cousin was in town!

Zeke and Reed happy to share the green car while waiting for the parade to start.

Ready to roll!

Almost to the parade start. It was fun that there were several generations of Loertschers in this parade entry!
