Laundromat Love

We were in Salt Lake a couple of weekends ago and wanted to visit Draper and Dynna. They weren't home because they were doing laundry. So we decided to join them at the laundromat!

Zeke had a great time running around, yelling (so he could hear the echoes), and playing with his aunt and uncle.

All of that action made Zeke thirsty!

And ready to rest,

but not for long.

All 5 of us had a great time catching up and hanging out. We should do it again sometime...

Swiss Pride

My love of Swiss Days started after I went to Swiss Days with Aaron. Yes, yes, I did grow up just down the road in Heber City, but we only went to Swiss Days a couple of times because my mom doesn't like the crowds, the traffic, and the parking. And I don't blame her one bit. One of my very favorite things about Swiss Days is parking at Mom and Dad Loertscher's and walking down to the Town Square. We are excited to be living in Midway this Swiss Days so we can help.

We thought we were going to work in the knockwurst sandwich booth with our ward. But at the beginning of August, we were asked to join the Swiss Days parade committee. It's been lots and lots of work (hence our un-updated blog). I just didn't realize how much behind-the-scenes work went into organizing all of those entries into a sensible line up. Making sure the bands don't come right together, keeping the llamas away from everything noisy, and keeping the politicians separated can be quite a headache. But I have enjoyed being so involved. Aaron and I are the computer gurus of the group and I think we have received tasks we are both skilled at and enjoy.

We hope you all are coming to this year's Swiss Days parade - it's going to be a good one!

Monkey Business

Remember how Zeke was climbing everything? Here is the evidence.

Most of these pictures were taken within a few days of Zeke climbing on his piano. Luckily, in the past week or two he has become more selective about his climbing ambitions. Now he primarily climbs the stairs, with an occasional plastic tote or small coffee table adventure.

Up In the Night

Well I'm up in the middle of the night AGAIN. What a pain in the butt! Seems like a full night of sleep will keep eluding me because of heartburn. This has been keeping me up for 3 out of 4 nights (probably not quite that bad but it seems that way) for about the last month. Need to figure this out before I need to go back to school.

the simple joys of slides

It's rather refreshing to find joy in the little things. Like slides. I haven't played on a playground with slides in probably 10 or 15 years. Zeke has recently started to enjoy the small slide in Grandpa and Grandma Loertscher's backyard, so I wanted to take him down a big slide. We went to the playground a couple of weeks ago and loved it so much we went back this week for more. The only thing that would make it better is if my feet didn't get caught in the turns...

Zeke also had a great time exploring the playground. Until he started to eat the wood chips and was quickly removed to the grass.

We also tossed around Aaron's foam glider and watched Grandpa Loertscher fly his RC glider.
