May Float Fly

We love going float flying!

The kids had such a good time in the water.

Nora gave herself a mud treatment at one point.

Zeke's Zoo Trip

Zeke's class went to the zoo last week on a field trip. Although he has been looking forward to this for at least a month, it was only a couple of days before the big day that we decided to take Nora and meet Zeke there. Nora is really into animals right now, and there are Legos animals there this summer, so the time was right!

We didn't stay exactly with Zeke and his group the whole time, although we saw them quite a bit.

Nora loved the sea otters and sea lions swimming in the water. 

We decided to take Zeke home with us, and he was a little bummed he didn't get to ride the bus home. But, because we stayed at the zoo a little longer than the class, we wandered over to the far edge of the zoo and were rewarded with big Legos to build with. 

It was a fun-filled day!

Flying Kites at Sunset

Zeke got a mini jet kite for his birthday and wanted to go out flying after the party. But Nora took a nap, and then after dinner we went to a wedding reception and chatted with friends for longer than we expected. By then the sun was going down and it was getting a little chilly. But we all still wanted to fly, so we took a few minutes to fly kites in the gorgeous sunset.

Here's the jet up in the air. It took several tries to get it up and it flew like this for about 2 seconds. Just long enough to take a cool picture!

So we switched to our awesome delta kite, it went right up and stayed up until it was too dark to really see it. 

The kids flew too, I love this picture. 

I tried to re-create the picture above, but with the 4 of us, but the kids had other ideas....

Birthday Flying

I think we've started a tradition of going flying on Zeke's party day. Last year we flew his new kite after the party, this year we flew planes before and kites after the party. Of course, this tradition is subject to weather; two years ago we woke up to snow on his party day!

It was a perfect day for flying. Spring is a beautiful time of  year.

Our little princess loves her planes. Plane retrieval was about the only thing that brought her back when she started taking a hike down the walking path!
