Summer Splashing

I had plans to give Zeke lots of water play time this summer...but they got derailed when those same hot days that are so good for water just make me want to stay inside where I'm more comfortable. But we did get the pool out, and Zeke had a blast.

It's like a gigantic puddle!

And of course, you have to take the water to other parts of the yard.

Rockets and Fireworks

We started our third of July celebration with rocket launch. Aaron flew his plane, and we watched the rest of the fam launch rockets.

The kids loved to help, when they weren't on the playground.

We finished our day with an outdoor dinner, s'mores and popcorn, and watching the fireworks from the backyard. Zeke is still asking to go to Grandma's for rockets and fireworks.

A Campin' We Went

Yay for summer camping with the Loertschers!

Zeke had a blast playing with his cousin (for more cousin pictures see Heather's blog)

exploring the world through magnifying glass,

exploring the nature trail, playing with sticks, rocks, grass, and leaves, and getting as dirty as possible.

The whole trip was made more pleasant by being able to trailer camp rather than sleep on the ground (thank you again Grandma and Grandpa!).

At night we enjoyed the campfire, s'mores, and watching the full moon rise 'out of the hill' as Zeke says.

The best part for me was spending a day away from work, just sitting around chatting with the family and watching the kids have so much fun.

Summer Sliding

What have we been doing when we're not outside playing in the dirt, inside working, going to a family event, or going to yet another doctor appointment? We take short walks down the street to the elementary school so Zeke can play on the slides.

We've loved being so close to the playground, especially because our backyard leaves much to be desired (like grass). A great way to spend summer evenings.
