On a Slow Train

My mom connected us with tickets for a special library story time - stories and songs aboard a train. We were so excited, knowing how much Zeke loves trains. It turns out the stories didn't really work out so well, but we did sing some train songs and enjoyed a fairly long train ride.
Waiting to board the train.

Hey look, train tracks !

We saw lots and lots of beautiful scenery on our train ride. Just-plowed fields, streams, bridges, and a smooth lake reflecting the mountains.

After about 45 minutes of puffing slowly through the countryside, we stopped and the crew moved the engine to the other side of the train so we could return to the station.

We had lots of fun. Honestly though, it seems Zeke prefers the fast speeds and multiple road crossings and station stops of light rail to the slow, creeping scenic train.

That story time sounds like a cool idea! Also, I read how Zeke re-reads his birthday card. We just barely had to get rid of Owen's dog eared birthday card from his last birthday, just in time for his next one!
