Day Out With Zeke

Zeke had a great Memorial Day. A graveside memorial service with flags, pinwheels, and windchimes to explore, lunch with extended family that included plenty of time on a nearby playground, playing in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard, and getting to see (not ride, but see) a couple of favorite friends:

Together Forever

On a beautiful spring day

we celebrated with Draper and Carrie at their wedding.

Zeke pulled lots of crazy antics, most of them occuring when we wanted him in a picture. Aaron and I both walked a lot of steps trying to keep him close.

But most of all we just loved being out and about together.

Congratulations Draper and Carrie - we look forward to celebrating more with you soon!

On a Slow Train

My mom connected us with tickets for a special library story time - stories and songs aboard a train. We were so excited, knowing how much Zeke loves trains. It turns out the stories didn't really work out so well, but we did sing some train songs and enjoyed a fairly long train ride.
Waiting to board the train.

Hey look, train tracks !

We saw lots and lots of beautiful scenery on our train ride. Just-plowed fields, streams, bridges, and a smooth lake reflecting the mountains.

After about 45 minutes of puffing slowly through the countryside, we stopped and the crew moved the engine to the other side of the train so we could return to the station.

We had lots of fun. Honestly though, it seems Zeke prefers the fast speeds and multiple road crossings and station stops of light rail to the slow, creeping scenic train.

Birthday Package

We got a package from Grandma in the mail for Zeke's birthday. Zeke was very excited about his 'box'.

We've read the books (including the card) pretty much every day since we got them.
